Objectives

By implementing the “Digital Horizons: Empowering Youth Workers for the Future” project in Kornos village (03–07/12/2024), we aimed to address the evolving digital needs in youth work by empowering youth workers with essential digital skills and knowledge. The objectives of the project were: Main Goals: Equip youth workers with vital digital competences to engage more effectively with young people in the digital age. Promote digital literacy so that youth workers and the young people they support can use digital technologies confidently and responsibly. Enhance creativity and innovation in youth work by integrating digital tools and platforms into educational practices. Ensure inclusive digital participation, bridging the digital divide and offering equal opportunities for all young people, including those with fewer opportunities (e.g., facing economic, geographical, or social obstacles). Support employability and entrepreneurship by enabling youth workers to guide young people in acquiring digital skills useful in the job market and in launching initiatives. Foster international cooperation and networking among youth workers across Europe for knowledge exchange and cross-cultural learning. Strategic Objectives: Promote digital transformation in youth work through tools like Canva, Capcut, Cities of Learning, Open Badges, and AI-powered applications. Introduce Open Badges and digital pathways for recognizing and validating learning outcomes. Raise awareness on personal and professional development through the use of digital tools. Promote social inclusion and well-being, especially for marginalized youth including migrants, refugees, and people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Strengthen EU values, encourage intercultural understanding, and prevent radicalization through digital education. Ultimately, the project aimed to create a sustainable network of digitally skilled youth workers who will continuously share practices, expand their learning, and improve digital youth work across Europe.
