The “Creative Textile Hub” project aimed to support the social integration and empowerment of young people with fewer opportunities, particularly those from rural areas, by offering them an enriching international experience through non-formal education, creative practices, and intercultural dialogue. We aimed to equip young people with the tools, experiences, and motivation they need to grow personally, socially, and professionally, while fostering a European sense of solidarity, creativity, and shared responsibility. By implementing this project, we wanted to: Provide a meaningful learning experience that allows young people to explore themes of sustainability, self-expression, and inclusion through the creative medium of textile and fashion. Strengthen intercultural cooperation and communication among young participants from 4 different European countries and their rural areas. Foster personal development and boost self-confidence through non-formal ways of learning, collaborative and creative activities in a safe and inclusive environment. Encourage active participation in society and in local communities through new perspectives on current fashion trends, textile consumption and whole value and stories of fashion pieces, experiences and skills like sewing, screen printing, interesting techniques for repairing and customizing damaged clothing, or different ways of up cycling not used textile, organizing swaps within their communities, and many others gained during the exchange. Support youth workers and partner organizations in developing more inclusive, green, and youth-friendly practices in their regular activities, sharing our perspectives and ideas how we as youth workers could do for change. Objectives of our project Creative Textile Hub: Promote social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, especially those from rural or disadvantaged backgrounds. Encourage intercultural learning and mutual understanding among participants from 4 different European countries: Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland and Portugal. Use non-formal education methods to develop key competencies such as teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. Enhance communication skills, particularly in foreign languages, through practical interaction and cooperation. Build tolerance, empathy, and solidarity through shared experiences and intercultural collaboration. Empower young people to express themselves, raise their voices, and take initiative in their personal and community life. Raise awareness about environmental sustainability, particularly in the context of fashion and textile production. Introduce mindfulness practices to support mental wellbeing, self-reflection, and focus. Encourage youth to take responsibility in their communities by sharing what they learned and becoming more active citizens. Strengthen partnerships between the involved organisations and contribute to the capacity-building of youth workers.
