Objectives

The main goal of the Disconnect to Connect project was to encourage young people to use social media more mindfully. The project did not aim to remove social media from the lives of young people – or anyone else – but rather to raise awareness of the potential risks associated with digital addiction and to show ways to use social media consciously. Through non-formal education, the project aimed to achieve the following specific objectives: • Increase participants’ awareness of the risks and negative impacts of excessive social media use on their mental health, concentration, and interpersonal relationships. • Provide tools and strategies that would help participants reduce their dependence on social media and improve their overall quality of life. • Establish international cooperation among five organisations specialising in youth and adult education, which helped spread the project’s ideas to new audiences and create a network of reliable partners for future initiatives in this field. • Reduce the average daily time participants spend on social media during and after the mobility. • Implement interactive workshops focused on raising awareness and developing skills for healthy social media use and supporting effective group work. • Provide an open space for improving foreign language skills and fostering international cooperation among participants.
