The YOUniverse project aimed to empower youth leaders working with disadvantaged young people by equipping them with innovative non-formal education (NFE) methodologies. The primary objective was to enhance their competencies to support the well-being and resilience of their target groups. The project focused on introducing and applying embodiment as a central methodology: an inclusive, somatic approach that allowed participants to work with emotions, build trust, and create safe learning environments. The YOUniverse project objectives were: To familiarize the 27 participants with the embodiment methodology to enhance the well-being and resilience of their target groups. To enhance the facilitation skills of the 27 participants, contributing to the overall quality of their learning programs. To disseminate the embodiment methodology and insights from the YOUniverse project across 9 partner organizations and on a broader scale during the implementation phase. To offer youth organizations and trainers opportunities for cooperation and peer support, fostering improvements in the quality of European youth work. The project was developed in response to challenges faced by both young people, such as emotional distress, anxiety, and disconnection, and youth workers, who lacked effective tools to address these issues. YOUniverse aimed to bridge this gap by offering relevant, experience-based learning that empowered both youth leaders and their communities.
