Komunál 1-0-1 is a project which aims to involve young people in municipal politics and youth participation. This goal is to be achieved through educational activities aimed at raising the awareness of the people involved about municipal politics, the legal nature and the possibilities of active civic life from the perspective of an elected representative or volunteers. By getting to know mayors, councillors and other people active in this field, they will learn how to influence their neighbourhood. The project also strives to systematically support student governments through mentoring and organising educational events. The project aims to foster a set of competencies that will make the participants unafraid to run for local councils, to engage in constructive dialogue with decision-makers, and to be able to make proposals that they can defend. It shall deepen the participants‘ understanding of municipal politics, legal processes involved, and competencies needed to effectively execute the tasks of the individual actors. The programe encourages participants to interact with peers and to effectively manage communication and negotiation among themselves.
