The main objective of the project was to support the personal growth and social development of disadvantaged students through international travel. We wanted them to develop key skills such as independence, the ability to plan, make decisions for themselves and others and solve problems in unfamiliar environments. We placed importance on teamwork between group members, the ability to work together and respect different opinions. The aim was also to develop students' intercultural competence, understanding and openness to different cultures and the ability to adapt to new situations. Last but not least, we wanted to strengthen their civic responsibility and interest in current social events in a broader context and to make them aware of their European identity and show them that they are part of something bigger. The project focused on non-formal education and was designed to provide students with a unique learning opportunity outside the school environment. By travelling around Europe, students had the opportunity to deepen their digital and linguistic skills and to use languages in real-life situations and interact with local people. At the same time, they learn about different cultures, discover the richness of European culture and history and develop their critical thinking skills to analyse new information, evaluate situations and form their own opinions. They had the unique opportunity to realise that they themselves are Europeans.
