Objectives

The main objective of the project was achieved through the following specific goals: • To identify the needs of organizations working with people with disabilities in the areas of staff training, client support, and organizational management. • To compare approaches of partner organizations across different European countries and share good practices in key areas of their activities. • To develop the competencies of staff and clients, particularly in communication, boundary-setting, stress management, and working with sensitive topics. • To support the destigmatization of people with disabilities through activities focused on public education and strengthening direct contact with the community. • To analyze and strengthen the financial stability of organizations, especially through diversification of funding sources and sharing effective strategies. • To create practical project outputs that organizations can use in their daily practice.

Background

The project “Joining Forces for Better Care” was implemented within the Erasmus+ programme, Key Action KA210 – Small-scale partnerships in adult education, from September 2024 to February 2026. Organizations from the Czech Republic, Cyprus, and Greece participated in the project, all of which focus on supporting people with disabilities and adult education in their practice. The project was developed in response to the need to systematically enhance the competencies of social service staff, improve communication with the public, and identify sustainable funding models for organizations operating in the social sector. Although the participating organizations operate in different conditions, they face very similar challenges, particularly in working with clients, destigmatizing disability, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of services. The main principle of the project was international cooperation and the sharing of good practices among partner organizations. The project included partner meetings, exchange of experiences, analysis of selected areas, and the joint development of outputs reflecting the real-life practices of the participating organizations. The project was structured into three Work Packages, focusing training.
