The objective of the project was to gain new learning impulses, methods and approaches for non-formal adult education through theatre by means of exchange with European organisations. The project aimed to further develop educational offers in order to address underrepresented target groups, as well as issues of diversity and sustainability. The newly gained insights were intended to feed into the educational work of BDAT and its member and to strengthen cultural engagement.
The BDAT e.V. is a nationwide organisation of non-formal and informal adult education in the field of amateur theatre, with strong European networks. The association has around 25 years of experience in delivering low-threshold continuing education programmes. As the umbrella organisation of approximately 2,500 member theatres, BDAT understands theatre as voluntary cultural engagement and as a contribution to social cohesion in a democratic and diverse Europe.
