Entrepreneurial learning - entrepreneurship education

Objectives

The project aimed to strengthen the integration of social responsibility and societal challenges within the Practice Enterprise (PE) methodology in vocational education. Its primary objective was to develop innovative and practical educational tools that support students in creating business models that combine economic viability with social impact. Specifically, the project sought to design and implement a Social Innovation Board Game and a complementary Social Innovation Toolkit that introduce structured approaches to analysing social challenges, applying Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and developing socially responsible business strategies. A further objective was to build the capacity of PE teachers and trainers by providing accessible, ready-to-use materials that can be integrated into existing curricula without structural changes. Through dissemination within national and international PE networks, the project also aimed to ensure institutional visibility, multilingual accessibility and long-term usability of the developed methodology.

Background

The project was initiated in response to a growing need to integrate social responsibility and sustainability more systematically into vocational entrepreneurship education across Europe. While the Practice Enterprise (PE) methodology effectively develops business and management skills, it has traditionally focused primarily on economic performance. There was a clear need to strengthen the connection between entrepreneurial learning and societal challenges such as social inclusion, environmental sustainability and responsible business practices.Within the PE networks in Slovakia and Germany, teachers expressed demand for practical, ready-to-use tools that would help them introduce social entrepreneurship without requiring structural curriculum changes. At the same time, European education policies increasingly emphasise sustainability, innovation and civic responsibility in vocational education. However, structured materials linking these priorities directly to the PE framework were limited. The project addressed this gap by developing innovative and accessible tools that support teachers and students in combining entrepreneurial competence with measurable social impact within the existing Practice Enterprise structure.
