Objectives

The main objective of the project was to develop a qualified, applicable, and open-access training program that supports sustainable production in creative industries. In doing so, it aimed to facilitate access to sustainability-based methods for young professionals, trainers, and artisans. The goal was to present circular design, material awareness, environmental impact management, and responsible production practices in an understandable and applicable format by creating a modular structure. Other objectives included strengthening the capacity of partner institutions, developing international cooperation, creating long-term impact through open-source materials, and establishing a replicable learning model that would initiate transformation in creative communities.

Background

The EcoCraft Skills project was developed due to the limited availability of sustainable production knowledge in creative industries and the need for accessible educational resources in this field for young professionals. Many designers, artisans, and educators lacked up-to-date tools to guide them on topics such as sustainable material selection, circular design, and environmental impact reduction. Partner organizations observed similar needs within their communities: a lack of practical, applicable, open-access, and adaptable VET programs. Therefore, the project was designed to increase environmental awareness in creative production, strengthen the skills of young professionals, and support the transition to sustainable production.
