Through this job shadowing activity, 3 youth workers from the German NGO CAMBIO and 4 from the Italian NGO Parco Culturale Alta Langa shadowed the work carried out by Generation Europa, a well-established Austrian NGO. They analyzed and exchanged knowledge and experience, assessed their capacity-building needs, identified the most relevant and effective methods in the context of International Youth Work, and explored ways to enhance the use of non-formal learning methodologies in their practice. Participants engaged in discussions about current management needs and explored digital solutions for more effective management practices. At the same time, the mobility represented an opportunity to reflect on the involvement of local communities and raise awareness about Glocal connections, by observing the work that Generation Europa conducted in the small village where its educational center was based. During the mobility, participants designed new Erasmus+ projects addressing these themes as well as other pressing issues relevant to the youth workers involved. These included, for example, active citizenship and digital literacy as well as the promotion of tolerance online and offline. This initiative aligned closely with the goals of Erasmus+ Job Shadowing mobilities for youth workers, enhancing both educational and organizational capacities. It also supported the objectives of Key Action 1 by enabling the exchange of tools and methods to strengthen the skills of youth workers and staff. The project promoted the sharing of knowledge, contributed to the modernization and digitalization of youth work, and supported innovation in non-formal education. Furthermore, it helped build a European transnational network of youth workers committed to developing projects inspired by Global Citizenship Education and capable of facilitating group dynamics within multicultural contexts. The objectives of the project were: 1)Co-develop and advance Global Citizenship Education in the framework of international youth work practice. 2) Review practices of involvement of rural communities and educational work to bring the world to remote areas. 3) Reflect and assess different project management and pedagogical approaches adopted by the partner organizations and explore new tools and methodologies. 4) Fostering collaboration among the project partners to design joint initiatives in the upcoming future.
