Objectives

“Outdoor Gives More” Training Course was developed to address the key challenges in youth work by using outdoor activities as a tool for personal development, social inclusion, and specifically inclusion of disadvantaged young people. The project aimed to address the lack of knowledge, skills, and resources among youth workers in creating inclusive outdoor games. Another important motivation of carrying out this project was to tackle the growing problem of physical inactivity. Through this project, we aimed to show young people how to stay active and encourage healthier lifestyles and integrate outdoor activities more widely in youth work. Our goals included improving the skills of youth workers, inspiring them to include outdoor methods they learned during the project in their work, and promoting creativity and innovation in designing new activities. We also created a practical resource, “Toolbox for Inclusive Outdoor Games”, to help youth workers to achieve social inclusion by including disadvantaged young people in their projects. During the training, participants worked together to create new outdoor activities and share ideas. The project also encouraged networking and collaboration, aiming to create more inclusive, engaging, and effective approaches in youth work. The training course mainly focused on below objectives: - Offering personal development through outdoor activities - Social Inclusion through creative outdoor games - Increasing sense of belonging and unity through outdoor activities - Creating outdoor activities for physical and mental health - Promoting healthy life style through outdoor activities - How to use outdoor activities in youth work - Create sustainable and inclusive outdoor games - Encouraging network and collaboration among youth workers - Brainstorming for new ideas and methods on how to use outdoor activities in their work among youth workers
