The main objective of the project was to foster cross-cultural understanding, promote active citizenship, and empower young people aged 18 to 26 through meaningful participation in various activities. By implementing this project, we aimed to create an environment where participants could exchange cultural perspectives, develop new skills, and actively engage in decision-making processes at both local and international levels. A key focus of the project was to encourage political participation by providing young people with opportunities to discuss and engage in democratic processes. Through workshops and discussions, participants were able to develop a deeper understanding of civic engagement and learn how to contribute meaningfully to decision-making in their communities. The project also aimed to promote intercultural exchange and understanding by facilitating mobility activities where young people could interact with peers from different backgrounds. This exchange helped foster tolerance, solidarity, and cooperation across borders, strengthening the European identity among participants. In addition to fostering political and cultural awareness, the project emphasized personal and professional development. Participants had the opportunity to enhance their leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and intercultural communication skills. These competencies were developed through structured workshops and collaborative activities designed to prepare young people for active engagement in society and their future careers. A central aspect of the project was the mentoring component, which sought to ensure an inclusive and supportive experience for all involved. Young voluntary mentors from Cologne played a vital role in guiding and assisting participants, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds. This approach helped to create an inclusive space where individuals from diverse social contexts could actively participate and benefit from the program. Furthermore, the project aimed to strengthen social cohesion and encourage community engagement. Through various activities, including the "Turn Up in CGN" Democracy Festival, participants were encouraged to interact with different societal groups, break down barriers, and build stronger connections within their communities. By integrating European values such as democracy, inclusion, and solidarity, the project contributed to fostering a more open-minded and socially aware generation of young citizens. The project was designed as a dynamic and interactive learning experience, emphasizing the importance of youth participation in shaping the program. By providing opportunities for dialogue, skill-building, and active involvement in civic life, the project successfully supported young people in developing their potential as engaged and responsible members of society.
