European societies are facing a multitude of challenges today. Among them the climate crisis, geopolitical conflicts, increasing inequalities, social segregation, and political polarisation. Many young people feel marginalized and ignored. In response, our project aimed to strengthen civic engagement of young people in Europe and to identify with them ways to shape our future in a positive way. Hereby, we focussed on fostering youth engagement linked to the Solidarity Action Day (SAD) as a tool for meaningful youth participation. On this day, students work for one day instead of going to school. They donate their earnings to support youth projects worldwide. Furthermore, our project strived to enhance European awareness by connecting youth from various European countries to share their perspectives & experiences, helping to build a more cohesive Europe and reducing stereotypes and Euroscepticism.
