The focus here is on the qualification of young volunteers and the further development of methodological possibilities between and within the participating institutions. The war in Ukraine is not only a disturbing event for young people from this country who are specifically affected. Our work is intended to show that concrete action is possible and effective within the framework of youth work in order to set a joint example for the European idea.
The partners from Belgium, Slovakia and Germany wanted to learn from and with each other in a European exchange about how Ukrainian children and young people can be better integrated. All of the organisations already have experience with children and young people who have fled from Ukraine in their specific fields of work and have found that their integration into local structures (leisure, school, living environment) is complicated. At the same time, the project aims to help young people come to terms with the war in Ukraine and develop ways of dealing with it.
