Objectives

"Drumming for Peace" was a one-week youth exchange hosted in Kalundborg, Denmark, aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence and intercultural dialogue through collaborative music-making. The exchange gathered 32 young participants from six European countries and used drumming and voice workshops as tools for non-formal education. The week concluded with two final public concerts, showcasing a unique musical piece co-created by the participants, representing diverse cultural elements from their respective countries in Europe. The objectives of the project were: - to empower the participants with the notion of active citizenship in the European society; - to acquire personal and professional skills and competences; - to promote non-formal education methods, specially using music and drumming as a tool; - to fight prejudices and all kinds of segregation in Denmark and in Europe in general; - to promote a message of peace and harmony through music in general and through drumming in particular; - to raise visibility and promote the Erasmus+ programme.
