The main goal of our project "Together for a Sustainable Future" was to raise awareness among young people about sustainability in all its dimensions—environmental, economic, social, and cultural—while empowering them to become active citizens and agents of positive change in their local communities. Through this Erasmus+ youth exchange, we aimed to tackle the persistent unsustainable trends identified across Europe—such as high municipal waste levels, income inequality, and social exclusion—by engaging young people from Denmark, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, and North Macedonia in a transformative learning experience. Our objective was to go beyond simply promoting sustainability at the policy level by actively involving youth in meaningful dialogue and action. The specific objectives of the project were: - To improve participants’ understanding of sustainability, including its environmental, economic, social, and cultural aspects. - To foster peer-to-peer learning, encouraging young people to share their experiences, values, and sustainable practices from their own countries. - To empower youth to actively participate in civil society and advocate for sustainable development goals (SDGs). - To encourage critical reflection on consumption habits and daily decision-making, promoting more sustainable lifestyles. - To facilitate intercultural dialogue, enhancing mutual understanding and tolerance among participants. - To inspire participants to become multipliers, sharing what they learned within their home communities and promoting sustainable practices locally. Ultimately, our project sought to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to take responsibility for the future of our planet. We believe that by educating and connecting youth, we can build a network of conscious individuals ready to influence their peers and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive Europe.
