The overall aim of the project was to strengthen Deaf youth participation at local, national, and European levels. We wanted to tackle the decreasing levels of participation in Deaf youth organisations and to give youth workers concrete tools to empower their peers. Specifically, our objectives were to: Understand and (re)define Deaf youth participation and its role in the sustainability of Deaf youth organisations. Empower Deaf youth organisations to create conditions for more active and meaningful youth participation. Enhance the competences of Deaf youth workers so that their organisations can act as a stronger and more independent voice within the Deaf community and in wider society. Develop practical and accessible tools that can be shared not only with the partner organisations but also with other Deaf youth organisations across Europe. These objectives were directly connected to the needs identified in the application: fewer Deaf young people stepping into leadership roles, limited awareness of opportunities, and the lack of accessible resources in sign language.
