Objectives

Another important need was to provide schools with structured educational materials and a shared curriculum that integrates environmental awareness into different subjects. Through European cooperation, the project also aimed to exchange good practices between partner schools and introduce a stronger European dimension into education. By addressing these needs, the project aimed to help teachers, pupils and school communities develop sustainable habits, improve communication skills in English, and promote active and inclusive learning approaches that support all pupils, including those with fewer opportunities.

Background

The project was developed in response to the growing need to strengthen environmental awareness and sustainability education in schools. Our partner schools recognised that both teachers and pupils needed more knowledge, practical tools and innovative teaching methods to address environmental challenges and promote responsible attitudes towards the environment. We applied for this project in order to improve teachers’ competences in teaching environmental topics through interdisciplinary and innovative approaches such as storytelling, STEAM activities, games, drama and outdoor learning. At the same time, we aimed to support pupils in developing environmental literacy and a positive attitude towards sustainability in an engaging and creative way.
