The project had two main objectives. First, to make adult education more relevant to real life and more diverse, thereby increasing learner motivation, supporting career choices, and reducing the risk of early school leaving. Second, to develop a career education programme for adult learners based on the experiences gained during the mobilities. Teachers participated in job shadowing, while learners took part in learning mobilities at schools with experience in career education.
Põlva Gümnaasium offers both regular upper-secondary and adult education. Around 30 learners attend the adult programme, including a growing number of school dropouts and young people with special educational needs. Previously, international opportunities were limited to regular students. This project involved adult learners and teachers for the first time to increase motivation, broaden perspectives, and help prevent early school leaving.
