Objectives

We wanted this project to make our work with young people stronger, safer and more useful for the youth field. Our main goal was to grow as an organisation that can plan and run good Erasmus plus projects on a regular basis. We wanted to be a trusted partner who offers clear structure, good preparation and safe learning spaces for both young people and youth workers. A very important aim was inclusion. We wanted to reach more young people and youth workers with fewer opportunities and give them a real chance to take part. This meant thinking about money issues, geography, health, mental health, cultural background and other barriers that can stop people from joining. Over the cycle we reached 129 participants in total, and 48 of them were participants with fewer opportunities. This shows that inclusion was not only a goal on paper but a real focus as well. It's nice to see that we managed to exceed our planned goal when it comes to involving such participants. We also wanted our activities to answer real needs in the youth field. The youth exchanges focused on topics that came from young people themselves, such as fast fashion, the environment, culture and identity. The training courses focused on needs that youth workers shared with us, such as risk management, outreach to new groups and practical tools to create better learning materials. Our aim was that every activity would help participants deal with challenges they actually face in their daily work or life. Another key goal was to develop and test useful methods and tools that can be used again after the project. With this project we wanted to improve risk management tools, create new workshop ideas, and design simple templates and materials that youth workers can take home and use with their own groups. By doing so, we hoped to improve the quality of future Erasmus plus projects, not only in our organisation but also among our partners and other youth workers who follow our work. Accreditation helped us plan our work in a long term way. It gave us stability to think about what the youth field really needs and to adjust the number and type of activities to the budget. Our aim was to use all funds in a smart way, choose topics that match the needs of young people and youth workers, and keep building a strong network of partners who share these goals.
