Objectives

The overall aim of our project was to promote international cooperation, personal growth and professional development in the youth field. Through a combination of youth exchanges, study trips and capacity-building activities, the projects aimed to strengthen both the mental and physical well-being of young people and the competences of the youth workers who support them. Each activity contributed to this common vision in its own way - promoting intercultural dialogue, healthy lifestyles and sustainable volunteering practices across Europe. Together, these initiatives are in line with the broader objectives of European youth policy: to empower young people, increase their active participation in society and create lasting networks that reach beyond national borders. Youth Exchange in Estonia: The main objective of this youth exchange called “Stronger together - building body and mind”, was to bring together young people from Estonia, Malta and Lithuania to explore the topic of mental health and physical well-being through intercultural learning, outdoor activities, creative tasks and thematic workshops. The programme also included daily reflections, cultural exchanges and sports activities that supported emotional resilience and self-awareness. Tartu 2024xTNTK training: Volunteers play an important role in every European Capital of Culture, but cities often struggle to continue their volunteer programmes after the end of the title year. Our aim was to create a platform where representatives of past, current and future European Capitals of Culture could come together to share their knowledge and experiences. The aim of the activity was to empower youth workers and volunteer coordinators, promote the value of volunteering as a tool for civic engagement and develop strategies to create a sustainable legacy that would last beyond the European Capital of Culture year. By creating a network of specialists across Europe, we aimed to increase the impact and visibility of volunteering in cultural initiatives and strengthen cooperation in the youth field. Study trip to Malta: The aim of the study tour of youth workers in Malta was to broaden the professional horizons of youth workers from Tartu Youth Work Centre and provide them with international experience. In addition, the project aims to broaden the participants’ knowledge and understanding of different youth work methods and approaches and to exchange ideas and best practices with youth workers in Malta.
