By implementing the "From Ideas to Action" project, our primary aim was to empower young people between the ages of 14 and 17 with the entrepreneurial skills and mindset necessary to navigate and succeed in the dynamic and ever-changing world of today. Adolescence is a critical period for personal development, where perspectives on life, career, and society are shaped. We recognized that traditional education often fails to provide young people with opportunities to develop creativity, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving—qualities that are at the heart of entrepreneurship. This project was born out of our belief that entrepreneurship is much more than starting a business. It represents a way of thinking: an attitude that embraces innovation, resilience, and initiative. By engaging participants in hands-on learning experiences, we sought to fill this gap and inspire a sense of confidence and capability. Our goal was to create an engaging environment where young people could discover their unique strengths, connect with others across cultural and national boundaries, and learn how entrepreneurial principles can empower them as individuals and community members. The project was also designed to go beyond the boundaries of a classroom setting. We envisioned a program where theoretical concepts were combined with practical exercises, fostering a deeper understanding of how entrepreneurship relates to real-world situations. Whether it was through interactive workshops or collaborative challenges, the aim was to ensure that participants could acquire skills that are not only useful but transformative, equipping them to think creatively and act decisively in their personal and professional lives. Our broader vision was to inspire a generation of young people who are not only academically prepared but also have the entrepreneurial mindset needed to thrive in today’s complex world. By nurturing skills such as creativity, leadership, collaboration, and social responsibility, we aimed to instill a sense of empowerment among participants. We envisioned young individuals who could approach challenges with resilience, contribute meaningfully to their communities, and act as agents of positive change. Key Objectives 1. Cultural Exchange One of our core objectives was to promote cultural understanding and collaboration among participants from diverse backgrounds. By bringing together young people from different countries, we aimed to foster an environment of mutual respect and shared learning, helping participants to broaden their perspectives and develop the intercultural competence necessary for global collaboration. 2. Entrepreneurial Education We aimed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of entrepreneurship, going beyond the concept of starting a business. Through interactive workshops, seminars, and practical activities, the project emphasized the importance of responsibility, creativity, and proactivity. This focus on real-world application allowed participants to grasp how entrepreneurial principles can be integrated into everyday life, enhancing their adaptability and problem-solving skills. 3. Team Building The project prioritized the development of teamwork and communication skills by engaging participants in team-based challenges. These activities encouraged collaboration across cultural and national boundaries, helping young people to appreciate the value of diverse perspectives while working towards common goals. 4. Leadership Development A significant aim was to nurture leadership qualities among participants. By assigning roles within teams and entrusting them with project outcomes, we encouraged young people to take initiative, make decisions, and develop the confidence to lead both within and beyond the context of the project. 5. Community Engagement We sought to inspire participants to apply entrepreneurial principles to real-life community projects. This objective underscored the potential of an entrepreneurial mindset to drive positive change, encouraging young people to view themselves as active contributors to their communities and to act with a sense of social responsibility. The project brought together 25 individuals: 20 participants aged 14 to 17 and 5 youth leaders. They represented four countries—Estonia, Italy, Hungary, and Spain. The target age group was selected based on research indicating a need for social skills and entrepreneurship education in young people under 18. This age range was chosen as a formative stage in life, ideal for instilling the necessary competencies to succeed in today’s world.
