Objectives

We wanted to bring young people together in one place because many of us feel lonely and lost in the online world. We wanted to help each other see that social media can be good if we use it with more thought. Our goal was to talk face to face and share stories about our lives. We noticed that social media is full of posts that do not always show real life, so we aimed to build an environment where we can speak openly. We felt that young people often keep scrolling through their feeds without thinking about how it affects their mood and their view of themselves. We wanted to change that by learning how to share our experiences in a more natural way. Another aim was to explore how people speak about serious issues online. We all know that hashtags and online posts can raise awareness, but we also saw that they sometimes make us argue instead of helping us understand. We wanted to dig deeper into this topic, so we planned group discussions and reflection sessions. We wanted to see how young people can keep calm when they face a heated discussion online. By meeting in person and sharing real stories, we hoped to bring more honesty into our social media lives. We also wanted participants to look at their daily habits and think about how much time they spend on their phones. Through sharing tips and ideas, we hoped they would find better ways to use the internet. A big part of our plan was to show that social media can be a great tool if we stay creative. We wanted to explore different ways to make good content, so we could spread useful messages. We also liked the idea of connecting with people from different countries because we hoped to break stereotypes and form new friendships. By living together for a while, we could learn new languages, discover new foods and traditions, and see that the world is full of variety. We wanted to open our eyes to new cultures and learn how other young people see social media. Through this, we hoped we could build a small community of friends who keep supporting each other long after the project is over. We also had a focus on mental health. We know that social media can make us feel anxious when we see perfect photos of others, so we wanted to talk about these feelings in a safe space. We planned activities outdoors so we could reconnect with nature and remember that there is more to life than staying inside on our devices. By taking photos or making short videos in real places, we hoped participants would gain skills in creating quality content that truly shows who they are. We wanted everyone to leave the project with more confidence in their creative skills and a better understanding of how to use social media in a healthier way. We believe that this project answered the need for honest interaction in a world that is quickly moving online. Our biggest objective was to help everyone slow down, meet real people, and share real stories. We wanted to make sure that we learn from each other, grow our self-awareness, and then return home with fresh ideas about how to live and share online. For us, that was the heart of this project, and we think we made good progress toward these goals.
