Objectives

The project aimed to tackle the pervasive issue of discrimination and its detrimental effects on young people's self-esteem and active participation in society, particularly focusing on individuals aged 16 to 23. To achieve this, the primary objectives included promoting tolerance and understanding among participants, cultivating an environment where they could appreciate cultural diversity and inclusivity, fostering mutual respect, and developing meaningful connections with one another. Enhancing communication skills was also a key focus; through workshops and interactive sessions, participants were equipped to articulate their thoughts and feelings effectively, thereby boosting their confidence in engaging in discussions about discrimination and related social issues. Additionally, the project sought to increase global awareness by exposing participants to various perspectives surrounding discrimination, enabling them to think critically about its implications on a societal level. A vital aspect of the initiative involved developing critical thinking skills, helping participants discern reliable information from misleading narratives, which is crucial for becoming informed citizens capable of navigating complex societal issues. Furthermore, the project encouraged active participation by inspiring young people to take on roles in their communities and governance. By fostering self-confidence and providing the necessary tools, participants were motivated to advocate for change and engage in civic activities. Strengthening intercultural relationships among participants was also an objective, as fostering these connections was essential for creating a supportive network that could lead to future collaborations and enhance their understanding of global citizenship. Through these objectives, the project intended to empower young individuals, enhancing their employability, cultural competence, and overall contributions to a more inclusive and tolerant society. By equipping them with the skills and knowledge to confront discrimination, the initiative aimed to foster a generation of informed and engaged citizens.
