Objectives

By implementing this project, we aimed to get experience in writing and carrying out our first Erasmus+ study visit for youth workters, since it hadn't been done before in Saaremaa Youth Work Centre. At least for a very long time. We wanted to develop our skills in writing and implementing Erasmus+ project, so we could carry them out in the future as well. This would raise the quality of youth work in Saaremaa and give more opportunities to local young people and people working with young people, would support the inclusion of (young)people from rural areas and fewer opportunities, would bring more competence locally and to youth work in general. Though some of the project team members had been participating in Erasmus+ project before, we aimed to give opportunity to every youth worker in Saaremaa Youth Work Center participating in at least one Erasmus+ mobility. By that we wanted to introduce Erasmus+ opportunities and empower the participants to participate and develop future Erasmus+ projects independantly, so the knowledge they have gained would bring impact to the local (young)people, community and to the Saaremaa overall. With this project we aimed to give the participants the opportunity to discover and learn different methods and ways to include young people aged 15+ to youth work, in order to support their participation in society and to give them more opportunities in participating in youth work in general. The project idea came from the problem that young people are leaving from the island. By implementing this project and by gaining new knowledge and skills during the project, we hoped to reach more people in our target group of young people aged 15+, include them in activities and support their active participation, and in bigger scale - that more young people would stay in Saaremaa in the future. Though it's not only question about youth work and its quality, but we feel that youth work can try to help tackling this problem. Our objectives for the project were: 1. Giving new methods, competencies and skills to youth workers involved in our project. The project seeked to provide them with valuable opportunities for individual and professional development, equipping them with different tools and knowledge of how to reach and include young people in their rural areas (targeting especially the 15+ young people). 2. Every youth worker of Saaremaa has participated at least in one international Erasmus+ project, thus empowering youth workers to participate in international youth work and create/help to create future Erasmus+ projects on their own. 3. Establishing good partnership between Tvibit and Saaremaa Youth Work Center for possible future projects
