Objectives

With the implementation of the project, our aim is to achieve several goals that will lead to the improvement of the quality of our school unit. The main goal is the development of innovative educational programs that integrate sustainability through the professional specialties of our school unit, a goal that will be achieved by integrating the principles of sustainable development into the curricula. We also aim to cultivate and enhance the awareness of teachers, students and society on environmental and social responsibility issues, through actions and briefings, for which the knowledge and experience of European partners will be invaluable. The digital tools that will be used require the development of digital and language skills, as well as the strengthening of employability skills, because this process will require the use of digital tools and artificial intelligence, which will enhance innovation in vocational education.

Background

In the P.E.P.A.L. of Rhodes, the needs for the modernization of educational practices, the connection of education with the local labor market and the cultivation of environmental awareness have been identified. The strengthening of teachers' skills such as the adoption of innovative pedagogical approaches, social constructionism and the interdisciplinary approach to knowledge leads to professional development. Inter-sectoral cooperation and the connection with European partners promote the extroversion and recognition of the school. Developments in technology, the economy and the environment that create new demands on the labor market require the updating of curricula and educational materials. Schools must keep pace with the concepts of sustainability, green development and responsible professional practice by promoting environmental tactics such as energy saving and responsible consumption, cultivating an environmentally responsible culture. Collaboration with businesses and local bodies highlighted the need for a more "open school", where students will be prepared for their smooth integration into the professional world as active and responsible citizens.
