Through the implementation of the Erasmus+ projects “Eat Well, Live Well” and “Spreading Understanding,” GO Alive organization aimed to foster holistic personal and professional growth among young people and youth workers, promoting mindfulness, health, intercultural dialogue, and social inclusion in line with the priorities of the Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation framework. The central achievement envisioned was the creation of learning environments where participants could experience personal growth through non-formal education, reflection, and experiential methods. More specifically, the Training Course “Eat Well, Live Well” (22–30 October 2024), held in Eani, Kozani, Greece aimed to build the capacity of youth workers to design and deliver health-oriented educational practices that integrate nutrition awareness, mindful living, and sustainability principles into their youth work. Its objectives focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices, connecting physical and mental well-being, and equipping them to inspire similar changes within their local communities. The course contributed to the professionalisation of youth work and aligned with the Erasmus+ programme’s commitment to quality improvement, innovation, and inclusion in non-formal education. Also, during the project, the participants had the opportunity to create and implement workshops to the local secondary school of Eani, bringing a greater impact to the local community. To conclude, the Training Course “Eat Well, Live Well” sought to strengthen youth workers’ competencies in promoting physical and mental well-being through mindful nutrition and sustainable lifestyle practices. Its objectives included: - Equipping participants with a clear understanding of nutrition and healthy eating habits. - Promoting the ability to make informed, sustainable dietary choices that improve well-being. - Encouraging participants to integrate health education and mindfulness into their youth work. - Raising awareness of cultural diversity in food traditions and the social aspects of shared meals. - Connecting sustainable living and mindful eating with the values of community health and resilience. The Youth Exchange “Spreading Understanding” (11–21 November 2024) held in Eani, Kozani, Greece complemented this effort by addressing communication, empathy, and intercultural dialogue among young people aged 18–30 from five European countries. Before the youth exchange, GO Alive implemented an Advance Planning Visit in Kozani, Greece on 16-19/09/2024, that brought together the 5 leaders of the teams of the partner organisations, plus one young person from GO Alive. The goals of the APV were to provide opportunity for the partner organisations to get to know GO Alive and our goals, team members and mentality, as well as to discuss the participation of each partner organisation in order to provide everyone with the best experience. Also, it helped enhance cooperation between participating organisations and to finalise the detailed schedule of the Youth Exchange. The Youth Exchange aimed to support participants in developing self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and non-violent communication skills by exploring mindfulness techniques and intercultural exercises. These objectives reflected Erasmus+ priorities of enhancing key competences, reinforcing democratic participation, and combating prejudice through intercultural learning. To sum up, the Youth Exchange “Spreading Understanding” aimed to empower young people to communicate mindfully, embrace diversity, and develop empathy through intercultural interaction. Its specific objectives were: - Enhancing young people’s awareness of cultural differences in communication styles. - Developing emotional intelligence, empathy, and active listening skills. - Promoting mindfulness and respect as tools for better interpersonal and intercultural understanding. - Encouraging participants to build authentic, real-life social connections beyond the digital environment. - Inspiring positive personal change and a more compassionate, tolerant mindset. Together, both projects contributed to GO Alive’s mission of promoting well-being, self-awareness, and intercultural understanding through non-formal education. They supported the overarching objectives of our Erasmus+ Accreditation by empowering participants to act as multipliers — transferring their new knowledge and attitudes into their daily lives, organizations, and communities, fostering a healthier, more mindful, and inclusive Europe.
