Objectives

The main goal of The Film of Identity project was to provide young people with the space, tools, and guidance to deeply explore their identity and understand how it shapes their decisions, interactions, and overall well-being. In today’s fast-paced and ever-changing world, particularly within Europe, questions of identity are more relevant than ever. Young people often face internal dilemmas about who they are, who they want to be, and how they fit into their communities. These concerns can have a profound impact on their mental health, leading to uncertainty, stress and in some cases, social isolation. By using non-formal education methods and the powerful medium of film, the project aimed to help participants reflect on their own identity in a structured and meaningful way. Through storytelling, improvisational theatre, and collaborative filmmaking, participants were encouraged to express their thoughts, emotions, and experiences related to identity, ultimately leading to greater self-awareness and resilience. The specific objectives of the project were: - To enhance young people’s ability to navigate identity-related challenges by providing a safe and supportive environment got self-reflection. - To increase their resilience in the face of societal pressures, fostering a stronger sense of self and belonging. - To equip them with skills in intercultural communication, creative expression, and teamwork, allowing them to connect with peers from different backgrounds. - To raise awareness about identity-related struggles and their effects on mental health through the creation of short films that address these topics. - To encourage youngsters to take an active role in their communities by sharing their insights and using their artistic creations to spark discussions on identity and inclusion. The Film of Identity was designed as an empowering experience, helping young participants develop the confidence to embrace their identities, overcome internal and external challenges, and contribute to a more inclusive and understanding society
