Objectives

The Cine-MINDS project aimed to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to use audiovisual storytelling as a tool for education, media literacy and social engagement. In an increasingly digital environment where young people consume and interact with visual media on a daily basis, the project sought to address the gap between media consumption and the ability of youth workers to critically analyse and produce audiovisual content. The main objectives of the project were: • to develop participants’ understanding of cinematic language and how visual storytelling shapes meaning, perception and public narratives • to strengthen practical competences in audiovisual production, including filming, documentary observation, editing, sound design and narrative construction • to equip youth workers with creative tools that can be applied in youth work contexts to encourage expression, critical thinking and media literacy among young people • to promote socially responsible storytelling and reflection on the ethical dimension of media production • to foster intercultural collaboration and peer learning among youth workers from different European contexts Through a structured programme combining theoretical input, hands-on exercises and collaborative production work, the project aimed to enable participants to integrate audiovisual storytelling methodologies into their daily youth work and community engagement activities.
