The examination of the need for the implementation of the project resulted from the realization of a digital focus group implemented by our organization, with 42 young people. The purpose of the focus group was to investigate the degree of recognition and acceptance of the identity of the European Citizen by the participants by examining individual items in successive stages to identify any weaknesses in their information/training and also how a project within the framework of Erasmus+ DiscoverEU could help to deal with them. Based on the results of the focus group, the EuroInsight project was designed as a learning journey for groups of 18-year-olds with fewer opportunities with the following specific learning objectives (listing the most important): - The acquisition of knowledge about the history of the European Union, its fundamental values and its role in today's society. - The recognition of the rights and obligations of European citizens. - The rebuttal of the arguments concerning Euroscepticism and the various types of phobia (xeno-, homo-, trans-, queer-) in today's society. - The recognition of the benefits for Greece, as a member state of the E.U. In addition to the experts, the plan includes general objectives of the DiscoverEU integration projects of our organization such as indicatively the exposure of young people to non-formal learning, the utilization of useful digital tools, the application of methods and tools during the planning and implementation of the plan (draft, budget, travel scheduling, coke), the use of green MMMs as well as the general reduction of the environmental footprint in our daily lives.
