The project aimed to improve compulsory education levels, the transition to higher education and the world of work for the most vulnerable population, by increasing educational attendance. Through the participation and analysis of the European region, the proposal is to incorporate basic vocational training through an educational innovation program to reduce school dropout rates, improve outcomes, and increase enrollment in these centers.
The Department of Education and Vocational Training has a Lifelong Learning Service that coordinates 165 adult education centers, 9 of them located in prisons. It also manages teacher training and educational workshops, drafts and processes curriculum updates, develops secondary education and language tests, coordinates with other units, and processes interdepartmental agreements for centers located in prisons.
