The project aimed to explore European models of teacher training and adult education in Portugal, Croatia and Italy; to observe innovative and inclusive teaching approaches; enhance the professional competences of the participating staff; to establish cooperation networks through EPALE and eTwinning; and to transfer the knowledge and experience gained to Ávila's Provincial Teacher Training Plan.
The Teacher Training and Educational Innovation Centre of Ávila (CFIE) is the public institution responsible for the continuing professional development of teachers in the province. The project "Building Bridges" was launched to strengthen its European dimension through learning mobilities with partner organisations in Portugal, Croatia and Italy, with the aim of exploring good practices in adult education, inclusion, digital competence and internationalisation.
