The project aimed to: (1) use Mediterranean shared musical heritage as a tool for non-formal intercultural adult education; (2) foster dialogue, inclusion and mutual understanding across borders through participatory learning; (3) establish the Estoudiantina of Cyclades orchestra as a sustainable artistic and educational structure; (4) develop open-access pedagogical resources on Mediterranean music traditions; and (5) strengthen transnational cooperation between cultural organisations from Spain, Greece, Belgium and Turkey in the fields of traditional music and adult education.
The BRIAM – Cultural Bridges Across the Mediterranean project aimed to use the shared musical heritage of the Eastern Mediterranean as a tool for intercultural adult education, fostering dialogue, inclusion, and mutual understanding across borders.
