In order for our country to achieve at least 55% less greenhouse gas emission targets by 2030, it is important to raise environmentally literate individuals with environmental-climate awareness. As a school, we were focused on the project with the necessity and motivation to take action against climate change. For this reason, in 2022, the ECO project team was formed by teachers and families of our school. Our aim is to educate students with environmental climate awareness and to ensure that our school reaches ECO standards. It has been observed that there is little awareness among students about environment-climate awareness. In the climate action plan of our school's strategic plan, it is emphasized that the competencies related to waste, recycling, carbon footprint reduction and environmental literacy should be increased and solution-oriented strategies should be learned. We are focused on the project for a sustainable climate and a livable world. People's relationship with nature has begun to deteriorate gradually, and as a result, it has become inevitable that environmental problems should be discussed. Studies show that the responsibility towards the environment begins to take shape in the early stages of education life.
