To make Vocational Training (VET) more attractive, real and practical in the intermediate VET courses of Administrative Management and Commercial Activities. To achieve this objective, we set out to create a web application where Intermediate VET students of these cycles could create simulated companies, with all that this entails in thinking about the name, the logo, the activity and the products and services they would sell. Subsequently, they will register these simulated companies on the web platform and begin to carry out simulated commercial transactions between these simulated companies. The objective set was for students to be able to work in a more real environment and generate and use the administrative documentation of an international purchase and sale transaction. At the same time, when contacting simulated companies from different countries, it forced students to use a language different from the one they use on a daily basis, which would improve language skills in the use of a second language other than their mother tongue and schools would expand the list of contacts with other schools in the European Union. Finally, the use of this platform and electronic documents would improve the digital skills of the students.
This project arose from the relationship that we have established since 2020 with the French VET centre Lycée Ampère Vendôme (OID E10137501), when 2 VET teachers from our centre, one from the intermediate VET course of Bodywork and Machining and a teacher from the intermediate VET course of Commercial Activities and Administrative Management, they carried out a Job Shadowing at the French school. As a result of this visit, we found that we were two schools similar in terms of the characteristics of the students, although from different environments, we from an industrial environment and Vendôme from a rural environment. We saw the need to continue the relationship between both schools, and we agreed to create a web platform to carry out simulated purchases and sales of products and services between simulated companies of the students of Administrative Management and Commercial Activities of both schools at first and then with schools from the rest of Europe. With the creation and implementation of this web application we could improve the attractiveness of our students for Vocational Training, improve the knowledge of languages, as well as digital tools and skills, and finally the awareness of belonging to the European Union.
