Objectives

Why do we want to develop this project? This is our third erasmus plus project, and we want to use this wonderful opportunity to offer young participants an experience that helps them improve in every way, increasing their awareness about climate change, environmental justice, the need for green policies, and ecology as a way of understanding the social participation of young people. We also want to grow as an organization, build experiences based on the spirit of European values, and connect with young people who share the same interests and needs to learn and share experiences and realities. The fight against all forms of discrimination, a feminist approach that defends the equality of LGBTIQ+ people, are the pillars on which this initiative rests. Needs and context: -Queer Ecology: A way of understanding environmental justice. Queer ecology is a way of understanding ecopolitics, which rejects ideas of human exceptionalism and anthropocentrism, but in addition queer ecology also identifies that heteronormative ideas saturate human understanding of "nature" and human society, and calls for the inclusion of diversity in environmental movements. It rejects the associations that exist between "natural" and "heterosexual", and draws attention to how both nature and marginalized social groups have been historically exploited. The queer ecology approach in our project guarantees that environmental justice, the fight for inclusion and against all forms of discrimination are always present. -Minorities: Victims of environmental racism. Climate change is a human rights issue. It influences the lives of all human beings on Earth, but it has a greater impact on the lives of minorities. In addition to native populations, other minorities, who often face a harsh socioeconomic reality, often suffer the worst consequences of phenomena such as environmental pollution. Stress and trauma are a major part of the reality of living in landfills on the outskirts of Europe's capitals. We are talking about hundreds of thousands of Roma, refugees, migrants and homeless people, who in addition to suffering other forms of discrimination and exclusion suffer the most direct impact of the lack of green policies in the European context, read: https://www. ibanet.org/Article/NewDetail.aspx?ArticleUid=8be6fdb8-7dfb-44c1-bbfe-d72eb3da3397 A report published earlier this year by the European Environment Office (EEB), a pan-European network of non-governmental environmental organisations, argues that this reality is the result of what EEB describes as 'environmental racism' which involves the 'ghettoization' of Roma, refugees and migrants who are expelled from cities and towns to these degraded places. Thus, the context indicates that although minorities are the most affected by climate change, very few projects focus on environmental education for these communities, much less for young people who face this reality. That is why the fight against racism and other forms of discrimination is a fundamental part of this project and one of the need that we want to explore. Project objectives: -Raise awareness among young participants about climate change and its consequences. -Introduce participants to the basic concepts of environmental justice; the importance of anti-racism and for diversity and equality. -Improve the self-esteem of the young participants; help them understand their capacity as young agents of social and environmental change. -Defend your interests from respect, dialogue and tolerance. -Create a participatory, respectful and common space. -Provide young people a space where they can learn what ecodiversity means and why it is necessary to think about our planet and society long term together. -Show young people the existing resources, tools and instruments on how to act, how to motivate other people in their community to join their actions to improve the environment. -Share and disseminate examples of good practices of respect for the environment; Motivate participants to be more active in protecting the environment. -Allow young people to acquire eco-skills by making them reflect on how to act towards their consumption and production of waste, while becoming actors to raise awareness among those around them; - Strengthen European cooperation between more countries, involving young people in one of the most urgent issues of the moment; - Create a social action in the city of Valencia with the organization of a regional campaign. -Promote LGBTIQ+ equality and European values of coexistence.
