With the implementation of the Prideful Wellness project, we aimed to create a safe and inclusive space where young people from different European countries could share their experiences, reflect on the challenges faced by the LGTB+ community, and work together toward emotional well-being and mental health for its members. Our main objective was to empower participants by providing them with both personal and collective tools to address and raise awareness about mental health issues in contexts of discrimination, exclusion, or stigmatization. We wanted this project to serve not only as a learning experience but also as a platform for expression, listening, and collaboration among young people with very diverse realities—united by a common cause. The specific objectives we set from the beginning were: – To foster personal development, self-confidence, and self-esteem among LGTB+ youth and allies, by working on topics such as self-care, resilience, and empowerment. – To promote mutual understanding and respect among European youth towards the LGTB+ community, using intercultural dialogue as a central tool. – To create a non-formal learning environment where participants could explore their emotions, identify psychological support strategies, and share positive mental care practices. – To make visible the diversity within the LGTB+ community and reflect on the effects that policies, public discourse, and social contexts have on the mental health of its members. – To produce materials that raise awareness in local and European communities about the importance of inclusion and the need to combat stigma—such as the final collaborative video and the Artsteps virtual gallery. – To strengthen the capacity for civic engagement and advocacy among youth, encouraging them to become active agents of change in their communities. We aimed to create a meaningful and transformative experience for every participant, while also leaving a positive impact beyond the group itself—contributing to a more inclusive, diverse, and mentally healthy Europe.
