By implementing the project, our deepest aspiration is to provide young people with the tools and support they need to face the challenges they encounter in their lives. Many of these young people come from complex social contexts, where discrimination, bullying, misunderstanding, and lack of social adaptation are everyday realities. Connecting Horizons was conceived and created to foster inclusion and diversity, helping young people understand and value their own identities in the context of a multicultural and diverse society. We want them to feel secure in who they are and find a sense of belonging in the world around them. Additionally, we recognize the vital importance of addressing mental health, especially given the difficult reality many of these young people face. For this reason, we have decided to include workshops and activities focused on emotional well-being and mental health regulation. We want to provide them with the necessary tools to face pain and adversity with resilience and inner strength. Last but not least, we aim to promote youth activism and civic engagement. We believe in the power of young people to effect positive change in their communities and the world at large. Through community service activities and opportunities for civic participation, young people learn to be active agents of change and to advocate for causes that matter to them. Therefore, the objectives of the CH project are: Raise awareness about the importance of diversity and inclusion: Through educational activities and practical experiences, we aim to create awareness among young people about the importance of respecting and valuing cultural, ethnic, religious, and gender differences. We seek to build inclusive environments where everyone feels accepted and valued. Address bullying and discrimination through dialogue, reflection, and artistic expressions. We recognize the power of art as a tool to address difficult issues such as bullying and discrimination. Our goal is to provide young people with an alternative means to express and learn from their experiences through art such as painting, music, and theater. These expressions not only serve as an emotional catalyst but also as a way to sensitize the community to the negative impacts of these practices. Promote mental health and emotional well-being: Recognizing the importance of mental health and being a youth-driven request, we want to provide young people with practical tools to manage stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges. Through talks, reflections, practices, and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, we aim to foster greater emotional well-being among participants. Foster youth activism as a tool for social change: We believe in the power of young people to create positive change in their communities. Therefore, we promote youth activism through a combination of community activities and artistic expressions focused on important social issues. We want to inspire young people to take concrete action to address the problems they face in their local environments and understand that they are the engine and energy of change. Facilitate dialogue and reflection on identity and European values: In a diverse European context, we seek to strengthen the sense of European identity among young people and promote common values of diversity, understanding, etc. Through spaces for dialogue and discussion, we want participants to explore and better understand diversity in Europe, thus promoting greater cohesion and mutual respect within the European community.
