This project was born from the collaboration of the facilitators of Almenaras Youth Asociation with social worker from Cordoba, Spain and a specialist in youth work, who is also an art teacher from Tallinn, Estonia. The need addressed by this initiative is the lack of awareness of innovative techniques in the field of stress managment in the times of the War. As stated by institutions as UNESCO and WHO - One in five (22%) people who have experienced war or other conflict, will have depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. The conflict in Ukraine has led to an estimated 15 million people from all Europe needing psychosocial support. Within this project we can not treat young people, but we can provide them and youth workers with different tools and methods that could help them with the stress managment during hard times. The methodology for the project primarily relies on non-formal education, gamification, and art therapy techniques to address mental health challenges among young people. The project focuses on developing key competences related to stress management, mental health awareness, creativity, and emotional expression. With this project we would like to show different workshops and activities that will equip participants, including youth workers, with practical skills in art that could help with managing stressful situations. The methodology will create interaction among participants from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Through structured workshops, group discussions, debates and collaborative activities, participants will share experiences, foster intercultural understanding, and promote empathy. We will encourage participants to take an active role in promoting mental well-being within their communities. Moreover, in order to make or project more innovative, we are going to include the debates on the topic of Artificial Intelligence and its usefullness in the field of art and stress managment. We will explore the use of AI-based tools and applications to analyze participants' artwork and identify potential mental health patterns or emotions expressed. Also we are going to include gamification. We will develop interactive workshops using gamification techniques and immersive storytelling. We plan to integrate elements of game design, such as quests, challenges, and rewards, to make learning about mental well-being more engaging and enjoyable for participants. Also we are going to introduce to the participants innovative art-based mindfulness exercises and relaxation techniques. These will include practices like mandala creation, kinetic art and biofeedback-based creative activities in order to help participants manage stress and improve mental well-being. In the phase of evaluation we will integrate interactive digital storytelling to showcase the transformative journey of participants before, during, and after the project. The objectives of our project, aim to achieve the following: 1. Our primary objective is to provide learning experience through 8 days youth exchange conducting workshops on raising awareness about the critical mental health challenges faced by young people nowadays. By doing so, we hope to empower 30 youth workers from 6 European countries to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health issues among the youth they work with, enabling early intervention and support. 2. We seek to introduce youth workers the potential of art as a valuable tool in their practice. Through our project we will create a guide with methods and tools that youth workers from the European Union can use in their work. 3. To provide a learning opportunity in a multicultural environment for youth workers to enhance their skills by providing workshops and training in art therapy techniques. This will enable them to incorporate creative and non-verbal methods of expression into their practice, making it easier for young people to communicate their emotions. Through workshops and activities, the project contributes to the promotion of social inclusion and well-being, development of skills and competences, particularly in the area of mental health awareness and art therapy techniques. The inclusion of debates on Artificial Intelligence, gamification, and innovative art-based mindfulness exercises reflects the project's commitment to encouraging innovation and creativity, intercultural dialogue, inspirating youth leadership and creation of sustainable partnerships. Because of these facts we are sure that the project aligns with Erasmus+ objectives. Youth work is rooted in creating inclusive and empathetic environments for young people. By participating in our project, youth workers will experience firsthand the power of empathy and inclusivity in addressing mental health issues. They will learn how to create safe spaces for open discussions, reducing stigma, and building supportive networks among the youth they work with.
