Objectives

Jóvenes Gigantes develops this project to respond in an active, effective, structured, and reflective way to the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. The Sustainable Development Goals are a call to action to eradicate poverty and improve the lives and prospects of people and the world. In 2015, UN member states approved 17 goals as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which includes a plan to achieve the goals in 15 years: End of poverty; hunger and food security; Health and Wellness; quality education; gender equality; clean water and sanitation; affordable and non-polluting energy; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation, and infrastructure; reduction of inequalities; sustainable cities and communities; responsible production and consumption; climate action; underwater life: life of terrestrial ecosystems; peace, justice and strong institutions; alliances to achieve objectives. Progress is currently being made in many areas, but overall, resources are not yet advancing at the pace or scale necessary to achieve objectives. The main objective of the project is to deepen the knowledge of these 17 objectives, offer them as a tool for reflection and inspiration, and show how the activation of small groups, such as NGOs, can initiate the necessary change toward a better future. All this using the documentary as a means of reflection and bringing together young people, together with conferences with authors and actors, makes each problem analyzed more interesting and communicative. Thanks to the strengths of the youth exchange and the Erasmus+ program, we can form a group of socially active young participants to improve their communities and the local environment where the program is implemented.
