Objectives

The project "European Union Chronicles: Weaving Heritage, Nurturing History, Empowering Youth for a Unified Tomorrow" is an initiative aimed at young people and based on the need to understand and realise EU's deep presence in our daily life and social aspect not only as a national decision and practice of our countries related with EU’s Institutions. For this reason, we will implement it, not only to make the European identity more visible, but also to boost the national identities, inside of the EU context. "EU-ECHO" means to represent an important initiative for the young European citizens as they are the key factor of EU's present and future involving them in all phase of the project itself. Infact, the primary aim of "EU-ECHO" project is to bridge the gap between European citizens, particularly the youth, and the European Union in order to cultivate the sense of European citizenship and identity, encouraging critical thinking, active civic engagement, deep understanding of the EU's fundamental values, and to develop the Youth Organizations' international collaboration and action towards European Culture and the EU identity. It also aims to empower participants to form their own opinions, contribute actively to the betterment of the EU, and develop a nuanced and dynamic European identity. "EU-ECHO" youth exchange is designed not to impose a particular ideology but to empower participants to form their own opinions, to develop the sense of belonging based on their values and to actively contribute to the ongoing evolution of the European Union. This approach allows participants to become more thoughtful and engaged European citizens with critical thinking and active contribution, and advocates for the EU's values. The youth exchange will involve 40 young people (18-30 years old) and 5 leaders (18+). Specifically we selected partners from the group of the oldest members of EU (Italy and Spain), younger members (Romania and Slovakia) and one EU candidate member (Albania). We agreed to implement "EU-ECHO" in Madrid, Spain that is a country with an important presence and experience in European Union. Lastly, we planned an Advanced Preparatory Visit in order to assure the safest and most efficient deliver of the project respecting organisations’ (two of our partners are newcomers or with less experience) and participants’ needs, and of course project’s goals. Youth exchange "EU-ECHO" has been designed by and for organisations, group leaders and participant and the main objectives are the following: -To enhance particIpants' knowledge and awareness on European Union History, Culture, Heritage and values. -To boost participants' European and National identity in harmonios way. -To enforce participants' interpersonal, intercultural, social engagement and exchange in European context. -To develop participants' critical thinking and civic engagement skills and to prevent the radicalisation. -To boost Youth Organizations' international collaboration and action towards European Culture and Values. "EU-ECHO" s partners (MAD For Europe, ENGIM - ENTE NAZIONALE GIUSEPPINI DEL MURIALDO, BAC Slovakia, CENTRUL DE INCUBARE CREATIV INOVATIV DE AFACERI, Albanian Center for Education Care and Training) share a commitment to high-quality youth work, youth empowerment and development of soft skills and competencies through means of non-formal education, as well as a common interest and recognition regarding cultural awareness, creativity, intercultural exchange and youth empowerment.
