Objectives

The project EuroConnect: Build Citizenship Together wants to work on the disconnection evidenced between youth and the European Union. The main motivation behind this project, led by the Municipality of Alguazas, is the need to empower youth by providing them with knowledge, skills and a stronger European perspective. Through the practice of youth work, the project aims to achieve several objectives: 1. To familiarize underage youth with the values representative of the European Union. 2. To provide opportunities for the development of social skills, teamwork and collaboration among the young participants, promoting a spirit of cooperation that reflects the fundamental values of the European Union. 3. To raise awareness of the impact of the European Union's activities on our lives. 4. To encourage active civic participation among young people, encouraging them to become involved in democratic processes and to understand the importance of their voice in the construction of European policies. 5. To give young people from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of European issues. To create an intercultural dialogue. 6. To facilitate the creation of connections and networks between young people from different European countries, fostering long-term relationships that promote collaboration and the exchange of ideas even after the project. In short, the practical objective of the project is to empower young people, providing them with the tools and perspective necessary to be active and engaged citizens in building the future of the European Union. It is hoped that, at the end of the exchange, participants will return home with an expanded European knowledge and a sense of being an integral part of the European Union and valuable contributors to its future.
