The "BEYOND BORDERS" project aimed primarily to empower young people with fewer opportunities through a guided educational experience focused on intercultural understanding, social inclusion, and raising awareness of the situation faced by refugees. It was designed to create a transformative learning space where participants could acquire key competences and become agents of change within their communities. The specific objectives of the project were: To foster intercultural understanding and empathy among young people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. To develop intercultural communication skills through participatory and collaborative dynamics. To promote the social inclusion and integration of disadvantaged groups, especially refugees and migrants. . To raise awareness among youth about the challenges faced by refugees in Europe and in their respective countries. To enhance personal development, self-esteem, and leadership skills among participants. The project was based on a non-formal education methodology, enabling a practical, experiential, and collaborative approach that facilitated the internalization of fundamental values such as solidarity, respect for diversity, and active citizenship. This initiative sought not only to have an individual impact on each participant but also to promote a multiplying effect within their communities, helping to build a more empathetic, open, and just society.
