"Sports for Inclusion" is a youth exchange program scheduled to take place in Vilanova de Arousa from August 1 to August 7, 2024. This project stems from the recognition that in an increasingly sedentary society, the ongoing health crisis has weakened the spirit of sports. Maintaining this spirit is already a challenge in normal circumstances, but for individuals facing difficulties, regular and satisfactory sports participation becomes nearly impossible. These difficulties may have various causes, including physical, mental, or economic factors. The primary objective of this youth exchange is to reduce these disparities, making sports as accessible as possible. Throughout the project, participants will engage in various training sessions, incorporating real sports activities. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the challenges faced by individuals with limitations in the sports field and learn how to normalize their situations through analysis and adaptation. The project values individuals who, despite facing challenges in pursuing their passion, continue to work and train daily, doing what they love. Additionally, it recognizes that individuals near Arousa Moza have abandoned their favorite sports since the pandemic. Therefore, the project aims to contribute to helping those affected by these situations, fostering understanding among participants on how to support those who strive daily and encouraging those currently not engaged in sports to start with a fresh perspective. Objectives of the Youth Exchange: General Objectives: - Promote inclusive sports locally and internationally, utilizing public spaces for their practice. - Establish an international network of young workers committed to inclusive sports. Specific Objectives: - Create digital content to promote inclusive sports practices. - Establish spaces and sporting environments that facilitate empathy towards athletes facing difficulties. - Raise awareness among young workers and the local community about the importance of sports accessibility. - Learn methods and techniques to adapt sports to the specific needs of each individual. - This innovative and inclusive objective aligns with the goals of the Erasmus+ program for the year 2024. Combined with the versatility offered by sports and the available facilities for sports activities, the youth exchange has all the ingredients for success.
