Objectives

CIRCLUSIVO aimed to make inclusion more than just a concept or buzzword—it was about creating a lived, shared experience that youth workers could carry back into their everyday practice. We wanted to show that inclusion is not only possible in international youth work, but that it can be creative, joyful, and deeply human. By using circus arts as a central methodology, our goal was to break down barriers of communication, ability, and culture, demonstrating how body movement, trust, and playfulness can make learning accessible for everyone. We also aimed to give youth workers practical tools to make their activities more inclusive, focusing especially on non-verbal methods that help engage young people with disabilities, language barriers, or low self-confidence. Our objective was to strengthen participants’ ability to adapt methods, create safe spaces, and design activities where all feel welcome and able to contribute. Beyond individual skills, the project sought to strengthen partnerships between organisations across Europe that share a commitment to inclusion. We wanted to build trust and solidarity, knowing that genuine cooperation is needed to keep inclusion at the centre of our work even when budgets are limited and challenges arise. At its heart, the project was about affirming our shared responsibility to make youth work truly accessible—making sure that no one is left out because of their ability, background, or circumstance.
