Through this project, and across the five planned activities, our aim has been to create and promote spaces for coexistence that foster diversity and interculturality among groups of young people and their communities, using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and artistic tools as driving forces. Additionally, this project sought to mobilize young participants as agents of change by guiding them in the creation of an artistic installation and a video art piece that reflect their needs and perspectives on diversity. We successfully carried out all five activities, involving 50 young people aged 14–15 from IES Trevenque in La Zubia. Specifically, two classes of 25 students each participated in the program. The project yielded several key outcomes. Firstly, the young participants developed greater sensitivity and a deeper understanding of diversity and interculturality, promoting peaceful coexistence and mutual respect—starting within their peer groups and extending to the wider community. Secondly, the youth were effectively engaged as change agents for social transformation through the creation of both an artistic installation and a video art piece, in which they expressed their needs and viewpoints related to diversity. Moreover, the project facilitated valuable connections with La Zubia's Youth Center, the La Zubia Town Hall, and the organization Menos Musas, which contributed to Activity 4 (video art creation), supported the video production, and participated in the final presentation session (Activity 5). During this final session, young people exchanged ideas and discussed ways to address discriminatory situations. Through these activities and actions, we aimed to foster youth-centered spaces that promote peaceful coexistence and mutual respect, contributing to the development of more inclusive, equitable, and respectful societies. Objectives OG1: Equip young people with knowledge of diversity and intercultural education through the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. Train young people specifically on SDG 10, focused on reducing inequalities and building more inclusive societies, using the 2030 Agenda as a guiding framework. This will lead to greater awareness of diverse realities, improved cultural understanding, and a reduction in conflict. OG2: Mobilize young people as "ARTivists" for social transformation through youth-led artistic actions. Empower young people through activism by using artistic tools grounded in the theoretical principles of intercultural education and diversity. This enables youth to take action as change agents in their communities through the creation of an artistic installation and video art piece. OG3: Promote the creation of networks between the school, youth, and stakeholders to establish a support system for people facing any form of discrimination. Encourage spaces that strengthen connections among youth, participating organizations, stakeholders, and decision-makers. The final presentation of the video art and artistic installation will serve as a platform for dialogue, providing young participants with the opportunity to showcase their actions and raise awareness.
