The project grew out of the Meeting of Youth Correspondents that was held in Mollina, Malaga, in 2022. At that meeting, young correspondents from different parts of Spain expressed the need for more opportunities to meet, exchange good practices and receive training to help them in their work as correspondents and to reach more people. Based on this need, the project seeks to develop a School of Youth Participation for the Social and Youth Transformation of Young People. The main objective is to promote youth participation in the social and political life of the city/community. The project is expected to be implemented through a series of activities, workshops and events aimed at young people of all ages and backgrounds. As a final event, there will be a meeting between the young correspondents of the three participating areas (Algarrobo, Alaquàs and Ceuta). The specific objectives of the project are: - To encourage the active participation of young people in decision-making and social transformation. - To promote the development of leadership, communication and teamwork skills among young participants. - To provide a space for dialogue and expression for young people to share their ideas, opinions and concerns. - Provide education and training opportunities that improve the educational and employment prospects of young people. - Establish partnerships with local organisations to strengthen their capacity to engage young people in community projects. - To foster a sense of belonging and empowerment of young people, promoting their civic participation and commitment to the community. In addition, the project seeks to develop the skills and knowledge of young people to become agents of change, promote social inclusion and equal opportunities for all young people, and contribute to sustainable community development. The project also aligns with the objectives of the Erasmus+ Youth Participation Activities, such as raising awareness of fundamental rights and European values, facilitating participation in civic society, and developing digital competences and media literacy.
