The DiscoverEU project has been conceived with a clear and ambitious vision that seeks to positively impact the lives of the young participants from the perspective of youth work practice. The following are the essential objectives of the project and how they will be approached from the youth work experience: Encourage active participation of young people: the primary objective of the project is to stimulate the active participation of young people in society. From the perspective of youth work practice, this implies the creation of spaces and opportunities where participants can express their opinions, contribute to decision making and actively participate in the planning and implementation of activities. Participatory methods, such as group dynamics, discussion workshops and community action projects, will be used to strengthen leadership skills and promote awareness of active citizenship. Promoting personal and professional development: The project aims to promote the personal and professional development of the young participants. From the perspective of youth work practice, this will be achieved through the implementation of activities that foster self-knowledge, self-confidence and the establishment of personal and professional goals. Personal development workshops, mentoring sessions and experiential learning activities will be conducted to strengthen soft skills such as communication, problem solving and resilience. Work experience with youth will focus on individual growth and preparation for the future. Promote inclusion and equity: The youth internship will actively address the promotion of inclusion and equity in all project activities. Specific measures will be implemented to ensure that all participants, regardless of their background, gender, skills or resources, have equal opportunities and access to the experiences offered. Diversity awareness sessions will be organized and an inclusive environment that celebrates and respects individual differences will be fostered. Work experience with young people will underline the importance of equal opportunities as a core value of the project. Stimulate intercultural awareness : From the perspective of youth work practice, intercultural awareness will be stimulated through activities that promote understanding and appreciation of different cultures. Cultural exchanges, intercultural learning sessions and events highlighting European diversity will be organized. Work experience with young people will facilitate active participation in intercultural dialogues and the exploration of diverse perspectives. Respect for other cultures and building bridges between participants from different backgrounds will be encouraged. Provide opportunities for learning and exploration: The youth work practice will focus on providing meaningful and enriching learning opportunities. This will be achieved through the organization of educational activities, cultural visits, thematic workshops and hands-on learning experiences. Participants will be encouraged to explore new horizons, both geographically and personally. Work experience with youth will incorporate non-formal learning methodologies, recognizing the importance of experiential education in the development of skills and knowledge. Facilitate the development of cross-cutting skills: The youth internship will prioritize the development of cross-cutting skills essential for personal and professional success. Specific activities will be designed to strengthen skills such as teamwork, effective communication, critical thinking and problem solving. Participants will be encouraged to take on leadership roles, collaborate on joint projects, and reflect on their experiences to identify the skills acquired. Work experience with young people will become a formative space for comprehensive skills development. Fostering active European citizenship: From the perspective of the youth internship, active European citizenship will be fostered through the promotion of European values, understanding of European institutions and participation in civic activities at local and European level. Discussions on European issues, information sessions on the European Union and community action projects that involve participants in improving their local communities will be organized. Work experience with young people will contribute to the development of conscious and committed European citizens. Evaluating long-term impact: The youth internship will include a focus on evaluating the long-term impact of the project on their lives.
