From the Erasmiau Youth Association, we present the project "DiscoverEU: Europe awaits you!". In this project, we propose to carry out an unforgettable trip for 5 talented young people who have faced geographical, socioeconomic, cultural and educational barriers in their path due to their residence in rural areas. With the DiscoverEU programme, we want to give you the opportunity to explore new horizons and discover the cultural and natural diversity of Europe. Through this experience, we hope to inspire these young people to move forward with their dreams and challenge their limits. General Objective of the project: Provide a transformative experience to talented young people from rural areas that promotes inclusion and diversity, environmentalism, digital transformation and the development of civic spirit, through a European trip that allows them to discover new cultures, nature and challenge your personal limits. It is a broad objective which is accompanied by the following specific objectives: Specific Objectives related to inclusion and diversity: - Select 5 young people with fewer opportunities from rural areas of different ethnic, socioeconomic and cultural origins to participate in the trip. - Promote cultural integration and social inclusion through activities and meetings with young people from different origins. - Promote respect and understanding of cultural and ethnic differences among young participants. Specific Objectives related to environmentalism: - Include visits to natural parks and ecological reserves in the itinerary to raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection. - Encourage the use of sustainable means of transportation and the adoption of ecological practices during travel. - Promote knowledge and understanding of global environmental challenges and how youth can be an agent of change. Specific Objectives related to digital transformation: - Provide digital skills training to young participants during the trip. - Encourage the use of technology to document and share the experience and results of the project. - Include visits to leading technology companies and organizations to promote knowledge and understanding of their impact on society and the future. Specific Objectives related to the development of civic spirit in youth: - Promote active participation and civic engagement through visits to governmental and non-governmental institutions and organizations. - Promote understanding and respect for citizen rights and responsibilities. - Include activities and discussions on topics of social and political interest to encourage critical thinking and social awareness. When writing the objectives, the 4 dimensions established in the program guide have been taken into account and have served as inspiration and starting point, allowing us to build a base for this project. It is also worth mentioning that in all phases of the project while we pursue the achievement of the previous objectives, we will keep the Action Objectives in mind. At all times we will try to bring the possibility of participating in DiscoverEU closer to those young people who have fewer opportunities, in this case caused by geographical barriers. Furthermore, when carrying out the project, the development of competencies and skills linked to this action of the program will be encouraged.
